“We live in a 1918 Oak Park bungalow, complete with art glass windows and loads of woodwork throughout. Our kitchen was a late 80s powder blue counters and laminate cabinets--did not match our home or our needs for a big family. Tom Bassett-Dilley and his team completely rethought our space and designed a functional and beautiful space that matches the rest of our home. We can now entertain family and friends in a spacious, sophisticated kitchen. The mud room and sun room were also part of this project--reclaiming space so every inch our our house is useable, efficient and stunning!”

“Searl Lamaster Howe is a firm that genuinely listens to the client. The project was a true collaboration, and the results astonishing. The architects are responsive, responsible and super-creative. They took a rundown country house and, essentially maintaining the footprint of the original home, turned it into something splendid at reasonable cost. SLH's attention to detail (e.g. custom cabinetry), use of ecologically sensitive materials, and thoughtful consideration of ongoing operating costs (e.g. geothermal heat and A/C) have contributed to a resounding success. “Sean Kelly is an excellent landscape designer. He brings fresh ideas to achieve an elegant, clean design, and is also extremely flexible in accommodating our priorities into the blueprint. Our project was a total redo of our Lincoln Park back deck and garden; incorporating a beautiful new epi deck, contemporary railings, stone patio, lighting and gorgeous greenery. After our initial installation last year, we added stunning planters, a climbing herb garden and ground cover. Sean is the quintessential gentleman, always courteous and the most customer-oriented designer we have ever worked with. He has a great eye, and delivers a wonderful end product. “We had a wonderful experience working with Moss Design. Our house has been transformed beyond what we thought was possible. The attention to detail was amazing -- there was no detail ignored and no problem to small to fix. They also provided much needed advice on the interior design. We also appreciated the guidance to use antique lighting fixtures and doors, as well as reclaimed wood for our floors. The whole team at Moss were so friendly, approachable and professional. “We have a small house in Riverside. It is about 1,000 sf. It is a split level modern house built in the 1950's. We wanted an open plan concept with a cathedral ceiling. We removed wall to new ceiling, creating an upstairs loft. The project was completed in 2001.We have lived in it for 11 years! We love the plan and the cathedral ceiling 16' high. Our room is now open 20'x24', with new skylights above the living room. Arlene was a terrific help. We got our plans on time during the design phase, and got our permits without any new work or any changes to our design. We have enjoyed our redesigned home for the past 11 years and would definitely recommend Arlene to our friends! ”
