Having worked with Chris as collaborator and client, I am perhaps in a special place to observe that inherent to his design process are old school values that today sometimes get lost in the pace, namely loyalty and sincerity. “We have worked with Patricia Brennan Architects on 4 different projects of varying scale - from a kitchen/bathroom remodel to the transformation of a 4-story derelict warehouse into an AIA award winning building of artist live/work spaces. Each experience has left us with a deep appreciation for the work she does and how she does it. Patricia listens closely - she listens to the physical space of the project and she listens to the desires and needs of her clients. She engages in a collaborative dialogue at the outset of a project and continues the dialogue until the project is complete. She has an amazing sense of color, a wide range of knowledge about all kinds of materials (from lighting to flooring and everything in between) and she provides recommendations for high quality professionals and reliable contractors. She’s attentive to detail, to budget, to practical problem solving and to the aesthetics, flow and functionality of a space. Each project we’ve done with Patricia has exceeded our hopes and left us with living spaces we love to be in. “I am so pleased with the work the Refine Design architecture team has delivered for our home remodel. We bought a funky 1940s house that needs a ton of love and work. At first, it was quite overwhelming to not know the possibilities of the home and what could modernize it but also maintain some of the original factors that we love. We had a couple of ideas when we sat down with the team and they not only helped bring our vision to life, but offered different ideas and a point of view we had not thought of. I highly recommend this duo - they are incredibly easy to work with and passionate about what they do. Thank you both for your help with our home!”

“Alev Seymen was our Project Manager, working for Castanes Architects, whom we chose for our new home design. During the development period, Alev provided us with many ideas and details of our design. Throughout the development and construction phase, she was sure to see that the design details were fully executed, always communicating her ideas and incorporating our ideas as well. Today after living in our home for several years, we are still in awe of the many details she designed and brought to us. Our home was recognized in Luxe magazine, Spring 2012 issue as well as Pacific NW magazine, May 12, 2013. Working with Alev was a pleasure and a wonderful experience. She is exceptional. Alev has an incredible eye for design and details and was outstanding to work with.”

“When I was looking into renovating my condo, I was a bit overwhelmed with the choices and all the different perspectives that people had for my design project. After sifting through a couple of firms I kept coming up short on finding the right one who understood my design aesthetic and could meet my budget and time frame. I was referred to Garret Cord Werner by a good friend of mine at a party and after reviewing his firm's work online, I decided to make a call and see if it was a fit. After contacting Garret, I was immediately reassured that I could have a modern and contemporary space that was actually livable and functional at the same time. Garret and his team provided expert advice and guidance when selecting the final design, sub-contractors and finishes. I can't tell you how much I appreciate my new home and would highly recommend Garret and his firm to anyone.”

“I hired Theresa Freeman to design my kitchen, bath, laundry and entry and to relocate my basement stairs. Theresa drew preliminary drawings for me and after I chose the general layout continued to work with me on the details. Even when I changed my mind she patiently adjusted the drawings. She met with me and three contractors she had recommended. (I could not be happier with the contractor I chose.) She seemed to share my vision for my project. She was responsive and sympathetic. She was also my advocate. I depended on her expertise quite a bit from general design to little details. She is sweet but knowledgeable and appropriately resolute. How many people can say that their remodel was a happy experience?! I can.”

“Maggie was our architect for our home remodel. We are having our kitchen bumped out and a family room with deck added. We are very happy with the final design. She worked with us to include what we wanted in her design. She did a great job communicating with us throughout the process.”
