Walk-in showers for seniors

Atlantic were commissioned to turn an old bathroom in a retirement home into a fully functional and level access wet room shower for a client who was experiencing difficulty getting in and out of the bath. We installed a wet room shower that could eventually be used for wheel chair access if the need arose. This would add real value to the one bedroom apartment. The shower has a built in seat with a useful hand shower and flow control adjacent to the seat. A smart thermostatically controlled digital shower allows the user to turn the shower on or off by simply pushing a small button on the waterproof remote control. This remote control can also be used outside the shower before entering the room set. There are 4 pre-set temperatures and an oscillating LED light on the shower control that will stop once the desired temperature has been reached. This indicates the shower is ready for use thus eliminating the danger of scalding and ensuring the perfect temperature has been achieved prior to entering the shower room. The shower flow can be paused during the shower and the temperature adjusted by turning an electronic knob. This can be especially useful for arthritic patients. Our client wanted a white shower room with a fun red feature wall as this was her favourite colour. An emergency pull chord alarm connecting to the front help desk was also installed for added safety and complete peace of mind. Lastly the complete wet room was fully tanked benefiting from our industry leading 10 year warranty and all walls were strengthened to allow for any future grab rail fixings wherever required
