Tranquil Tides

Upon entrance, a large living room yonder pleasantly floods your senses but first, a vestibule on the left is where the mandir is, a quiet reminder that sacred comes before mundane. Hereon, a low-height wood panelled entrance opens into the living room with generous height, offering a dramatic welcome to visitors. The first thing that catches the eye is the serene seating arrangement, especially the inviting green sectional sofa. Perhaps this is the trick we wished to play because in a large family room made of gentle colours, this was the one stark element. It works. A pair of playful, circular tables lend whimsy with their differing heights. Patagonia marble runs through the space upon which a muted rug from Jaipur Rugs rests. A simple bench demarcates the boundary. Curtains are in two sets, one diaphanous and the thicker taupe add substance. A monochrome three piece artwork hangs upon the light grey walls. Across, the entertainment unit is a sight to behold- the perfect blend of functionality and glamour. It’s our ode to natural elements. Here, a flat screen hangs on a large slab of gorgeous marble which itself is framed by slender wooden panels. A rustic bit of tree trunk makeshifts as a showpiece. A serene space. To bring family together and immediately calm the senses. Really what home is all about.
