Tile Projects

This backsplash project in Bloomfield, IN features a travertine subway tile design. The tiles are 3" x 6" Jinshan Coffee Polished Filled Monterrey that my clients bought at The Tile Shop. Travertine is naturally porous, but the voids in these tiles have been filled and polished for a very smooth surface that still has lots of variations and character, but is easier to clean. The decorative stripe is not a metal piece, but some sort of cast ceramic or porcelain peice that dresses it up a bit. The key to making it look great is to carefully clean the grout off of the decorative tile with a stiff bristled brush. It takes a little extra work, but it is totally worth it. Came out beautiful.
