Rustic chic renovation

The wall between kitchen and family room was removed to create a great room with island dining. The black distressed finish of the island contrasts with the white perimeter cabinets, which stretch to the ceiling with a row of glass fronted uppers. Black accents balance the dark hardwood. A rag rug adds a rustic note.
