Again, simple and variably spaced bookshelves that do not overwhelm the space or shout "Books!" the way our house has over the years come to do. From Sarah: I assume you guys plan to go adjustable? Some of these pictures, the shelves don't look adjustable. In a way I prefer the non-adjustable look--it seems cleaner to me. But in this picture they've done a nice job and it still looks clean and modern and homey, so this could be OK.

A library in the dining room is the commonsense approach, when you can't have a dedicated room for storing books. I'm dying to swap my ikea shelving for a dedicated built-in, though.
