Mt Davidson Manor

The cooktop and ovens were very deliberately put in the rear of this kitchen plan. The cooking triangle is actually very small when you look at the proximity to the refrigerator, encased in wood across from the cooktop, and the sink which is just a few feet away. Odors, clutter and the noise of prepration is tucked back in this cozy area since we removed all of the walls between the kitchen, dining room and living room. you hear very little sizzling and clanging when you're at the front of the house. Notice also that we basically used two materials in this renovation - wood floors and cabinets in a similar hue and white countertops and backsplash tile in similar colors. The countertops are veined and the tile is hand made. This kitchen would not have worked with quartz countertops and machine made tile. It had to be softer, more natural to make it look like we really haven't been there at all.
