Aventura Magazine said: In the master bedroom, the subtle use of color keeps the mood serene. The modern king-sized bed is from B@B Italia. The Willy Dilly Lamp is by Ingo Maurer and the white Oregani linens were purchased at Luminaire. In order to achieve the luxury of the natural environment, she extensively renovated the front of the house and the back door area leading to the pool. In the front sections, Corredor wanted to look out-doors and see green from wherever she was seated. Throughout the house, she created several architectural siting areas using a variety of architectural and creative devices. One of the sting areas was greatly expanded by adding two marble slabs to extend the room, which leads directly outdoors. From one door next to unique vertical shelf filled with stacked books. Corredor and her husband can pass through paradise to a bedroom/office area.

TroicoTroico
This West Vancouver new build has all the bells and whistles any modern home could dream to have. Builder Quinton Construction did a phenomenal job creating a top-quality home. Troico was happy to complete all the cabinetry on this project. The large eat-in kitchen and spice kitchen boasts shaker cabinets from our Midtown Series collection in Troico White. The custom hood fan is a work of art and frames the kitchen well. We especially love the glass on the top row of all the ceiling-high cabinets. The bathroom vanities and mirrors were also a pleasure to build and showcase the level of detail in the home. All bathroom millwork is painted white, keeping with the tone of the home. The home’s traditional undertone shows through in the built-in benches, media room and family room cabinetry which is stained a custom espresso. This home was recently featured in Homes & Design Magazine. See the online article here: http://www.homesanddesign.ca/design/bright-white/

Client: Private Individual Completion Date: 2011 Scope: Interior Design Location: Cairo, Egypt This one of a kind Nile boat is inspired by the traditional Dahabiya Nile cruisers. The owners chose not to refurbish an old or second-hand vessel, but rather build a new one based on the old lines, but modified to suit their modern lifestyle. Divided over three levels, the lower level contains the bedrooms, staff area and kitchen. The main deck is divided into a large terraced area and a secondary tea corner, while the inside living space is divided into a lounge, dining area and a guest toilet. The topmost deck situated in the stern has Bedouin-style floor seating with straw carpets and floor cushions, making this spot perfect for star gazing. The boat is named Nubia and the design is inspired by the river villages of Upper Egypt, with desert colours and rich textures. Islamic and Ancient Egyptian motifs are used to stay true to the owner’s love of Egypt’s abundant heritage. Custom-made sofas inspired by the Lotus flower, with exaggerated/ accentuated depth and traditional Egyptian upholstery, double as day beds. Old doors sourced from Cairo’s back alley antique stores are used as art, chests as tables, and cut-out motifs for lighting features. White-washed wood work keeps the mood true to the desert inspired colour scheme, while neutral upholstery adorned with traditionally embroidered throw pillows gives richness to the serene interior setting. The overall result is a charming floating home inviting you to layback and reflect on the wonderful surroundings of the river banks.

The stacked quartzite stone is a more modern take on the ubiquitous stone fireplace that is seen in many desert homes. Plenty of comfortable seating is perfect for watching the game or a family gathering.

The street door opens into a small, pale blue living room filled with an oversize, mushy, pale pink linen sectional sofa and an eclectic mix of bits and bobs. On the wall is a cherished photo of Juen and Johnny Cash. Everything is lit with a teeny-tiny modest-but-powerful center light fitting. Photo Credit: Amy Neunsinger
