LAKE MICHIGAN COTTAGE

This remodeled cottage from the 1940s sits comfortably on the shores of Lake Michigan. The original building was both expanded in size and enhanced with modern amenities to increase energy efficiency and open up views of the lake. Both inside and out, layers of old and new materials provide incredible depth to the different textures of the home. Four French doors from Marvin rest between the large great room and lakeside deck. This design not only brings in light to fill the gorgeous wood ceiling of the gathering space, but also opens up the space to allow for an indoor-to-outdoor transition during summer months. Marvin windows helped to seamlessly blend the character of the old cottage with the newly expanded design.
