Kitchen and Dining Extension, London

Located in Richmond, this beautiful Victorian terrace family home was transformed through the addition of a new conservatory-style kitchen, dining and living room. This would provide the family a light and airy space, opening onto their part-courtyard, part-lawned garden. McDaniel Woolf Architects (whose studio is also in Richmond) developed the idea of a “double front” design which makes the rear facade as important as the street frontage bringing curb-appeal into the private garden. The symmetrical twin gabled composition is pleasing to the eye and the conservatory extension from David Salisbury acts as the axis point around which family life now revolves. Upon entering through the inward opening French doors, there is a bright contemporary interior with uninterrupted views over the garden.
