AV Architects + Builders Location: Great Falls, VA, United States Our clients were looking to renovate their existing master bedroom into a more luxurious, modern space with an open floor plan and expansive modern bath design. The existing floor plan felt too cramped and didn’t offer much closet space or spa like features. Without having to make changes to the exterior structure, we designed a space customized around their lifestyle and allowed them to feel more relaxed at home. Our modern design features an open-concept master bedroom suite that connects to the master bath for a total of 600 square feet. We included floating modern style vanity cabinets with white Zen quartz, large black format wall tile, and floating hanging mirrors. Located right next to the vanity area is a large, modern style pull-out linen cabinet that provides ample storage, as well as a wooden floating bench that provides storage below the large window. The centerpiece of our modern design is the combined free-standing tub and walk-in, curb less shower area, surrounded by views of the natural landscape. To highlight the modern design interior, we added light white porcelain large format floor tile to complement the floor-to-ceiling dark grey porcelain wall tile to give off a modern appeal. Last not but not least, a frosted glass partition separates the bath area from the toilet, allowing for a semi-private toilet area. Jim Tetro Architectural Photography

Modern meets beach. A 1920's bungalow home in the heart of downtown Carmel, California undergoes a small renovation that leads to a complete home makeover. Designed by Daniel Altmann of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Bethesda, MD this modern kitchen design in Chevy Chase, MD features kitchen cabinets from Ultracraft Cabinetry in the Apex door style in 2 finishes. The perimeter kitchen cabinets feature an Arctic White finish, whereas the kitchen island cabinets feature an Urban Grey finish. Engineered quartz kitchen countertops feature 2 finishes as well. The perimeter kitchen countertops show Cambria Charston and the kitchen island top features Stellar White by Q from MSI. Kitchen appliances are by KitchenAid. The small master bedroom in this 1950's era home lacked character as well as space so we added some molding detail to the focal wall behind the bed and kept furniture to a minimum, replacing the closet and dressers with built-in cabinetry along one wall. The black painted furniture provides a strong masculine foundation that is softened with a pretty chandelier, delicate hardware and deep coral velvet cushions that can be changed out with the seasons. The sea glass guest suite is the third of the guest suites in the third floor. Brunschwig & Fils draperies and custom bedding accents feature a classic sea shell and coral fabric that is absolutely breathtaking. The beautiful colors in the inspiration fabric were used to color the walls and the coral accents in the trey ceiling. Large picture windows look out onto the Naples Gulf and sliding glass doors with custom window draperies and sheers open to a private balcony looking onto agent tree sized Sea Grapes. Soft linen white family room with handknotted rug, white sofas and glass table. A clean, contemporary white palette in this traditional Spanish Style home in Santa Barbara, California. Soft greys, beige, cream colored fabrics, hand knotted rugs and quiet light walls show off the beautiful thick arches between the living room and dining room. Stained wood beams, wrought iron lighting, and carved limestone fireplaces give a soft, comfortable feel for this summer home by the Pacific Ocean. White linen drapes with grass shades give warmth and texture to the great room. The kitchen features glass and white marble mosaic backsplash, white slabs of natural quartzite, and a built in banquet nook.
