The final fireplace mantel was made from a reclaimed wormwood plan. Lots of sanding and cleaning out rot was necessary to acheive the supple finish. Five applications of matte clear coat gives a subtle luster. The rustic nature of the wormwood references the clients dining buffet which is at the opposite end of the room.
