Customizing projects

My client and I were shopping for antiques to be used in their home and came across this French iron piece that was exquisite. We didn't know how we would use it but knew we had to have it. Then the inspiration came to me when we started discussing front door. Why not customize our door and use it as our accent? We found a local Hill Country craftsman that made furniture as well, gave him the drawings of the door I designed, selected Alder wood and the finish we wanted and then he took it from there. All the carving on the door is hand carved. It was a perfect way to use this charming piece.
