Jami AbbadessaThis couple contacted me before their little bundle of joy arrived to design their nursery. We started with what used to be a very pink little girl’s room, decorated by the previous owners, and turned it into a contemporary cozy space for their newborn. The carpet flooring was replaced with hardwood maple, a modern baseboard replaced the traditional looking ones, new closet doors with a maple frame and frosted glass inserts replaced the standard white doors and recessed lighting was added to brighten up the once dark room. The couple didn’t want the standard pink or blue nursery, but opted for a more gender neutral and modern color palette. So using my favorite base – grey – we added some foxy orange pops! The maple and grey crib and dresser are Oeuf, the orange glider came from Room and Board, the windows were covered by Room and Board as well and most of the accessories and decor was ordered on Etsy.

The brief was to create a gender neutral space for the arrival of their baby with a stylish yet practical look and feel. This room was created using high street brands and online vendors by hand selecting items with affordable price tags and stylish features to create a room reflective of my clients personal style.
Che Bella Interiors Design + RemodelingOur clients were looking for a bright color palette for their daughters nursery. A bright floral-print fabric in fuchsia and green became the starting point for the design, and was used to cover a cornice board above the window. Che Bella Interiors also had an artist paint a whimsical tree design on the wall behind the crib. The couple was able to purchase their fuchsia chair secondhand - a great find! The clients grandmother got wind of the project and created a quilt to match the room as a surprise for the parents to be.
While our clients were on a budget, they were able to use resources from family members to pull the room together - which is a great way for the family to be involved with their first grand daughters room!
