The diagonals that cut across the open shelving unit add a quirky spin to the library display. Meanwhile, an out-of-character standard-cut square alcove calls attention to the TV. The TV’s blackness offers a subduing effect on the rainbow of books featured.

4. There are an infinite number of ways to arrange or build a media wall – this particular one forms an essential part of the room’s architecture. The ends of the criss-cross beams on the roof continue on to the build of the media unit, creating a dynamic space. The structure is used as a TV-cum-library unit, divided into smaller shelves that help break up the structure’s mass and accommodate varying depths of storage for books.

6. Will they accommodate changes in the design?Though not ideal, designs do tend to evolve. Here, your architect’s point of view is crucial. If you anticipate changes in your project, then this, too, needs to be discussed. Will the architect make more suggestions at a later stage, and importantly, may you ask for changes as the project moves on?
