This Mediterranean style pool was situated to catch the breadth of this clients backyard vista. From the ramada dining area to the east, to the city light view and sunset to the west, this shimmering expanse captures the ever changing arizona sky in one broad sweep. The dramatic arbor across the back of the pool serves a real functional purpose as a foil, to intercept ones gaze before being fixated on the neighbors roofline squarely centered just behind the pool, and to direct ones eye westward toward the city vista beyond. The vanishing edge spa is celebrated right off of the master bedroom axis, serving as a perch from which the clients can basque every evening as they survey the panorama behind them and enjoying the waning light of an Arizona sunset reflected in their pool as their cares melt away and they reconnect with each other, celebrating the moment.
