Ali Swidler Designs

This 500 SF studio apartment was purchased as a pied-à-terre and was a full gut renovation and one of Ali's favorite projects. With the owner's contemporary style in mind, Ali opened up the walk-in kitchen and closet to create an open plan for an office and a wet bar. Additionally, the purchase of the hallway janitors closet added an additional 15 SF to the bathroom to allot space for a washer/dryer (a rare commodity for NYC apartments). Ali replaced the wood floors with 5" pre-finished tigerwood, built soffits to install adjustable recessed lighting, used Porcelanosa tiles for the kitchen and bathroom, and customized high gloss Acrilux cabinetry to hide the appliances.
