During the final phase of construction on this home in Avon, we were hired to completely renovate the existing traditional white kitchen. The house has a blended style of traditional and contemporary details so it was important to include a small amount of traditional design in this new contemporary kitchen. This was achieved by building raised panels on the island and flat inset panels on the stain grade perimeter cabinets. Contemporary details include English Sycamore cabinets with clear Alder bullnose and trims, and radius end panels and crown mouldings on all cabinets. White Zito countertops were instaled with a full bullnose edge along with Lunada Bay frosted silk glass mosaic mini subway tile backsplashes. The kitchen features a Franke stainless steel apron sink, a 36" Subzero refrigerator, Bosch side by side ovens, a Bosch 36" induction cooktop with downdraft exhaust vent and an inline exhaust blower. Murano glass pentant lights hang over the island and complement the under cabinet lighting. The walls were faux finished and artwork patterns were hand painted. Our favorite detail on this project was the custom hutch. This piece of furniture includes a white Ash burl backsplash panel with heavy figuring (Figuring is a term for pattern in the grain of the wood). The upper cabinets in the hutch have top mounted puck lights with adjustable glass shelves and German Antique glass in the door panels.
