41 Grosvenor Road N10

Egg Architecture was asked to create more space for a young family in north London. The house is in a Conservation Area, and early engagement with the local Planning Department was positive, gaining approval for a modern, clean-lined extension. Solar-control glazing and opening rooflights allow daylight deep into the house without risk of overheating. Timber detailing adds visual warmth to the cool white render. Internally, a large kitchen diner is created with a ‘snug’ seating area, plus a separate utility room and toilet. The new arrangement allows plenty of space for family gatherings and parties, plus separation for those times when a family member needs a little peace and quiet.
