28th Street

Our task was to make a disjointed plan have better flow and better physical and visual access to the south-facing garden. The design vocabulary took cues from the original Edwardian detailing. Adding doors on either side of the fireplace between the living room and dining room increased flow. An open steel exterior stair with glass panels connects the upper floor and the garden, and allows light to penetrate lower level bedrooms and family room.
