deck - porch - pool
note about lighting
Hang string lights permanently around inside perimeter of covered porch with a switch inside house - saw this on garden tour. good landscaping.
If built-in planters - death needed for shrubs/hydrangeas,etc
Similar in size & style to our plans - cedar used for porch ceiling and I’ve for bbq pavilion & planters
Do outside border in a different color. Particularly see section 2 for dimensions
same ceiling on the roofed porch laid in a square pattern
lodgepole pine ceiling on the roofed porch. Note the square pattern on the ceiling. Ceiling pine: Woodtone.
Container gardening on deck - like the style/ design for deck
Garapa decking and limestone surround on pool edge
the roof/slats of a pergola can be so they could close completely
like step lights
details about construction pilings to do as little harm to tree roots, etc. Porch is built out/not attached to house.
Tree well and planter box
Like opening at roof line
re-doing the pool to appear an infinity pool but not, also cover perogola, ipe decking & perogola supports
Smokeless fire bowl
Raised bed on pool deck instead of seats
Extends off back of house - see next 2 photos for how next to house
Decking is Batu Wood (also known as Red Batu) - not as expensive as Ipe
could we use the brackets against the house to build a support for awning??
pergola and bottom skirting (to keep out animals, etc) are all PVC
Include irrigation if planter boxes
like how the railing at the bottom is raised so debris can be blown off
used a special screen that blocks 99% of the pollen, also a gas fireplace (we got the gas), an open rafter ceiling (vs cedar planks?)
in Charleston - like how the hot tub is elevated/open
planting transition from lower deck to upper deck vs. the trellis wall & bench we have now.
layout has distinctive "theme" areas, ie cooking, lounge/sitting, jacuzzi
Cool lights
maybe a gazebo idea. also Bamboo is a deck material option. On the coast, have to use certain type of bolts because of salt air
Ipe is wood that lasts 25 years. If left untreated, it will soften to this gray OR it can be sealed to keep it's reddish color. It is more expensive to install depending on which method (one of 3) - overall cost is $9-11 per sf.
awning - custom aluminum and Sunbrella retractable awning from Warema, a German firm. In this photo, each awing is roughly 9 feet long and projects 6 ft out from house.
Like the curve of deck/patio with the garden curving below
Include a fan & lights - also porch swing
could use a pre-manufactured hot tub and put it in the left corner of the existing layout with the bench existing - still need steps up vs. sitting on ledge and swinging legs over. Only negative is that is the best sun spot for laying out.

great idea for tree on deck with natural materials - dried palm leaves & hydrangeas
