Laneway House - Kitchen inspiration
A stretch of the imagination here but I will try to explain. I would imagine the living area in the design is not doubleheight but that there was a small sightline into the living room from the stairs and the edge of the artist studio. I would imagine possible view down similar to as if you stood on the balcony above where the glass panel is in this photo. Obviously the sightline would not be as expansive given a single height living room but just an idea.
Assuming that the window panels on the end are a retractable wall, I like the thin line frame as opposed a larger defined door panel. I also like the floor to ceiling windows here as well allowing lots of light and sightlines. Also the clean lines with no baseboards. The polished concrete floor also look appealing here. Could be an interesting tie to a concrete exterior finish. Also like the simple look of the fireplace (Be it gas or possibly electric [More for ambiance if electric] or if at all).
Not really crazy about this layout. Flagged for idea of stovetop in the island with what I assume is a downdraft hood fan (Since I cannot see one). Not sure if I would want the cooktop or a sink in the island (or both). Starting to realize that the kicthen is likely more defined by the intersting island and the rest falling in around it. Configurations that are appealing are either an L-shaped with an island or a galley style along one wall with the island but NOT a U-style kitchen (It breaks up the flow).
Like his for the simple clean lines. Either the fireplace of the TV on that wall but I guess that the TV has to go somewhere.
