Asked/but estimate ceiling height 9'. Wainscoat is 5' per designer (Fiorella Design).

A) How high is the ceiling please? B) How high is the wainscoating? We have a 9' ceiling in a library - rectangular shape. The 2 short ends are paneled - one has a large window facing west, the other has fireplace. Both include bookcases. Builder recommend 3-5' wood finish wainscoting and my husband leans toward 6-7' wainscot height. Your opinion please. The ceiling will be coffered w/same wood finish on the beams, w/light colored paint on the ceiling portion. Thank you very much!

Again - builder didn't have records. But think this is 7-8' tall.

Asked the height of the wainscoating. This room may be 12' ceilings. If correct - then this seems to be 7' wainscoating. Will see the response.

The wood is a character grade Alder. The stain is a "Provincial" dark brown with a dark brown glaze wiped into the crevices.

Love entire design - walls, column, even the "Chinese marble" floor.....but the ceiling lighting design is SUPERB - suttle, soft, clean!!! Pepe ......explained the process and said it's not hard to do...or costly as I recall.
