Exposed pipes are interesting. Two-tone wall paint and high-up shelf are interesting. Can up-cycle some less expensive cupboards and units.

Light, spacious. Relaxed "european apartment" low-key kitchen-diner, which is social, and with the small kitchen table to relax at with coffee and a book, or to use as a spare work-surface!

Consider coloured ceilings, especially in kitchens where fittings may be white.

Fun-lit corner pantry. Layout/use of space of cupboards against wall which you can work around one way to reach the rest of the house. Fun winding trajectories that make you wonder what's around the corner, whilst teasing you with glimpses. Intrigue. Not actual central units, lighting, feel of front-left section.
