I like the use of art and the side flame. I don't like the art but the placement of it. The art fails because of the matting.

This is more Euro than you tend to like but it is a an example of built ins with central fireplace and use of art
Built ins--Mix of wood and stone. No mantel fireplace--clean look that is good for small spaces.
