little nooks to sit in- cute, but are they really functional?
exposed brick in family room? with glass moveable builtins?

dual level island to seperate kitchen and nook/rest of kitchen?
drawers make it easier to get to the back (otherwise you forget whats back there)
drawers for corner cabinets easier than digging in the back
dark counters with light cabinets look nice
