Similarly, the opposite wall of the same compact kitchen includes some hidden essentials built into the base of the upper cabinetry. In this case, a small amount of cabinet space was stolen to hold electrical work, which allowed space for a flush undercabinet LED strip to brighten the kitchen — a win-win. You can create a similar effect with most stock cabinets by adding a custom built box at the bottom for electrical and using an extra-long door front to cover both the cabinet and the add-on to achieve a flush look.
Hello. Typically you hang a pendant 30"-35" over a countertop. So we treated this just as we would a regular counter. The ceilings were fairly high and the fixture is more dramatic and larger than a pendant, so we hung it at 35". When in doubt, always remember to go at least 6' from the floor over a countertop. When hanging lighting over a dining table, go 27-32" from the table. (Though some prefer higher). When a fixture is over a walk space, go at least 7' from the floor. Then I always adjust these heights (a little higher not lower) depending on the ceiling height and and fixture size. Do what looks 'right' within these parameters. Hope this helps.
Combining the subfloor and radiant system in one structural panel and facing it with an aluminum skin distributes the heat evenly beneath the finished floor. A low-mass radiant floor comes up to temperature quickly using a lower water temperature than its high-mass or staple-up counterparts.
