a small kneewall is sort of an interesting idea -- instead of trying to blend the water with the ocean, make the house feel a bit protected but without obstructing the ocean view (if that can be done). Maybe address zoning issues too somehow

this only works if you're in a place where the ocean tends to look deep b blue most of the time. Otherwise, the pool is bright blue and the ocean is the color iti is that day
