white spindles and pillars (minus acorn things on top) decorative wainscoatting upstairs. make it washable
not necessarily these floors, but maybe consider something rustic, farmhouse like. it will certainly hide the scratches and such from kids and animals
LOVE the barn doors. whether you'd want to close them or not. paint is great too.
2 sets of stairs possible? One in back near kitchen. One in front
