way to “build in” your freestanding refrigerator is to actually build it into the wall, rather than cabinets. If your kitchen plan will allow it, this is probably the easiest and most cost-effective way to get the look, because you can make the opening the exact width and depth you require. You also won’t have any cabinet modification costs.

Simple but stylish, the flat-panel cabinet door is void of any details. Many flat doors come in decorative laminate or wood. Laminate tends to be more budget friendly and offers a greater variety of colors and sheens.

Your guests deserve a nice view as well, so place a large section of windows opposite your island if you can.
consider placing a window just below the cabinets. You'll still get some natural light flowing in without losing the needed storage.
I like the stools / chairs. Good overall layout of kitchen with eat-in dining area. Want sink on wall -- not in island. Put stove there. Not all bamboo flooring is the same, however; be sure to look for moso bamboo, as it's considered the hardest and most durable.
Be shallow. Instead of wall cabinets, install shallow floor-to-ceiling pantries. They're an efficient use of an interior wall, where you can't have a window anyway. By limiting the depth to just 6 to 9 inches, you are forced to line up your dry goods in a single row, making everything easier to find.
Install drawers. When it comes to base cabinets, I can't recommend drawers over doors strongly enough. Deep drawers can hold almost anything you need to store in a base cabinet. Plus, it's much more efficient to just pull the drawer out and have all the contents on view right in front of you than having to open two doors and root
Avoid corners. If you can design your kitchen to not have corner cabinets, do so. Corners tend to cause traffic jams in kitchens, and corner cabinets can be awkward to use.

I am most interested in flat, light cabnetry with a white-ish countertop. Appliances behind cabnetry. -- Tricia Choose light colors. Lighter-colored cabinetry will appeal to more buyers. "Dark kitchens are out,. "People prefer light and bright."

This grated area is a dog kennel. Dog gets to see everything going on in kitchen, where most action is. Great idea -- can easily convert to kitchen storage .
Kitchen counters. Kitchen counters are typically set at around 36 inches finished, including the countertop material, although I have set them at 37 or 38 inches for tall clients. The height for a bar or dual-level island is typically 42 to 43 inches. I find this kitchen design appealing -- like the smooth surfaces, light & dark woods. white countertop.
