Great fireplace, great stone, I really like how the fireplace stands out in a major way here. We would have to modify a bit for yours, but I like how wide the fireplace area is.

What about changing it up. Rather than stone on the whole wall, how about heavy wide stone area on the bottom and then above the mantle, use a barnwood wrap? If changing the fireplace, we could bump it out to give it another dimensions and do the three sides in wood above mantle and stone below??
