Working OTHER CL & D
Could do tall cabinet (you will have exposed gable to the right of the fireplace) , with taller doors for storage. Upper doors could be a variety of glass options (more expensive), or painted wood - no counter. Would not recommend mirror on upper doors as shown as it makes the space feel busier/cluttered. Wall behind fire would run continuous with back of cabinetry.
again, fireplace is "focal point" cabinetry next to it is smaller to emphasize fire mantle. I like the illumination of the shelves, but would need simple accessories - not cluttery for a more sophisticated look in the sitting area. Wall behind shelves/gables of cabinetry would run continuous behind fireplace - not stepped forward as shown here.
Could have accent coloured cabinet next to fire with 2 door upper/drawers as shown here. Optional glass or solid (recommended) unless you have subtle and sophisticated accent pieces to display. From drawers up could be stepped back to only 12"D from 16"D 2 door base cabinet (stepped back slightly from face of fireplace). Left side gable of upper would be exposed as wall behind fire would run continuous with back of cabinetry.
Accent cabinet with what looks like harmonizing quartz counters. Blank wall above with art and art light, mirror over fireplace instead of art would be great to bounce more light. Simple, clean, money put into art rather than storage cabinetry. May be a good thing unless you need the storage and potential display shelves.
