possibly not this style, but this idea of banquette seating where you could have a dining table or just a few smaller coffee/accent tables is interesting. You could see people hanging here while you were spinning.

mid tone floor white wall then darker tones in the furnishings. Nice contract, warm but still spare and modern. Metals start to man-up the space.

In case you wanted to keep the old lady theme, but just move her to the beach.

I'm skeptical that this much white would be advisable, but example of light floor with darker wood tone.

Another more beachy feel. Gosh I really hate those barstools.

That is totally beach.

What not to do is often helpful too

Too much white?

Another nicely tailored space with similar wood tones to what you will be working with from your kitchen cabinets.

Possibly the existing wall is deep enough to accommodate pocket doors, or even if not potentially some of the framing could be saved. It won't give you as much open space as the entire moveable door will, but that also means you keep more usable wall space and sound barrier.

Another divider company name

This company is very expensive but a good place to look at a variety of options

I think this is what you meant when you said the pull out drawers?

Ok, I am in no way recommending this style. But, thinking about how to make the most use of the end of your new bar counter, wine fridge, beverage fridge, open shelving, not a bad idea. We discussed the amount of open space that removing the pantry will create.

Sliding door idea for pantry area. Make the slider flush with the current cabinets. you would have room for that to be more of a butler's pantry than just cabinets. Good place to stash the small appliances so they don't clutter the relatively little counter space you have.

And now for something completely different. This is like gentlemen's beach with the addition of the natural rattan pieces against the clubby greys and utilitarian stripes. A bold piece of artwork similar in feel to what you pointed out in the shop the other day.

How do you make the TV not a focal point? Paint the wall it is on black. It would not be difficult to paint the interior of the sliders black as well to matte out the whole end of the unit and really make the water stand out.

After dining furniture is removed, this long shelf/buffet/low intensity work space might be an idea. Seeing a scandi/beach theme developing in everything I am tagging.

As an example of what might look nice in the photo but in real life this would be completely dead without the addition of those green plants. Too plain to grey, especially for Chicago north-facing space.

Cool colors, washed woods, watery rug for beach resort style. All of this would be very easy to source.

A little more color added with less permanent features. In other words, pillows. LIke the sisal rug over the hardwoods for the beach resort feel.
