A single door cabinet, a "floor" within it. It's a look, and no reason to do two cabinet boxes.

It's a waste any other way. Whether exposed (glass ) or not. You will never want to bother with anything WAY up there. But glass and display? Is also a nice lighting opportunity for ambience: )
