Kitchen

Like this open plan, make dining room area bigger, hood area smaller , no cabinets sitting on counter top as need counter space, use L shaped island if preferred to separate living areas & DR from kitchen. Use ceiling style or heights to define rooms lvm,

Q

Photo

Keeping room idea off kitchen...can have Fireplace or bar area, make little bigger lvm

Q

Photo

Open. Warm and heading in the right direction, but a bit too much wood and wood tones. (PWV) Too much wood for me - reminds me of 1970s wood cabins LVM

Q

Photo

If we get a range/oven combination such as shown in this picture, we can put the additional oven and steam oven on top of each other in the oven stack next to the refrigerator.

Q

Photo
Photo

More basic kitchen, like it with different counter top and finish under hood, different hood, no stove /cooktop combo . Island smaller and chairs tucked under lvm

Q

Photo

Add island...just example of a smaller kitchen that looks nice lam

Q

Photo

Simple, easy, like ceiling with some pizzazz, maybe some color on cabinets and granite lvm

Q

Photo

Like layout, dbl ovens, cook top, make exhaust cabinets with exhaust hood under cabinets, maybe turn island & get rid of half circle at end of island? Lvm

Q

Photo

Kitchen of house we liked; don't necessarily like cabinet style or blue tile but layout is fine. (Lynn)

Q

Photo

L shaped kitchen, smaller, off white cabinets or do a wood, dont need ornate crown moulding at top of cabinets, can be less ornate. Island not as huge, and can take off ornate corners. Otherwise, like the kitchen. again, could do L shaped island for more cabinet space and separation from other rooms. Like double ovens not oven/stove combo Like floor LVM

Q

Photo

Maybe wood or painted cabinets, window where hood is, have cabinet /countertop only on right side vs a window opening into D.R or Family room, whatever is on other side of that opening. Island could be narrower, or turned and different material. Trying to find smaller kitchens lol LVM

Q

Photo

Smaller size kitchen if needed, L shape, lose the column, pull island out and make L shaped to make the kitchen a room? or leave island straight but pull out of center of kitchen LVM

Q

Photo

Like off white color better than all white, like countertops, maybe not as creamy of color but not bright white cabinets lvm

Q

Photo

Like colors with white and gray, or maybe not bright bright white, like backsplash, openness, not the hood, pull island away from cooktop area as a bit as crowded, island doesn't have to be so deep. Like windows, prefer double ovens and separate cook top, to stove/cooktop.

Q

Photo

I like the corners of cabinets on right and left of window rounded to make useable space and a display area . Cabinets dont have to go to ceiling if anyone wants.to display things on top of cabinets? Either or is fine with me. Like island, but countertop on it too thin, like L shaped islands also, to separate rooms from each other

Q

Photo

Like the kitchen flowing into the dining room, and table facing like PWVs does at his house. Can have small keeping room in front of island and family room elsewhere so can hear tv while someone cooks, or family room in front of island and a smaller den off family room for quiet spot . island a little too deep for me

Q

Photo

Like this pantry behind these type doors or the farm like sliding door on a track (lm)

Q

Photo

I like the backsplash and layout without stove/oven Combo and no panels on fridge and not wild about 2 tone black/dark brown. Not sure about the double island look. Dont really need kitchen this big but again could make L shaped, with island separating kitchen from other rooms. Maybe double cabinets on each side of windows, vs 3 doors on left and 2 on the right Dont need 4 windows, altho looks nice. Could reduce size by dropping down to 2 windows or a large pircture window

Q

Photo

Kind of nifty, u shape kitchen. Like the windows, but without black frames. like cabinets on either side of the windows. prefer work top vs stove/oven combo. Like windows on 2 walls for brightness. Not sure about extended island with built in table. looks a little chinzy. Might could make this kitchen more L shaped to make it smaller if did an L shaped island for cabinet space and separation from other rooms.

Q

Photo

Like hood is hidden, like island size and shape if not being used as an eating area, maybe could make space to push 3 stools under island or turn it around 1/4 turn to add stools on back side. This would be ok for smaller kitchen area. Like the granite, dont like the design over stove, and prefer not to have stove/oven combo. This design doesnt allow for windows, would be an interior room kitchen, I would prefer windows in kitchen, but show a cool island style with the somewhat ornate island (lvm)

Q

Photo

Need Dbl oven, cook top w/ down draft in island or where modern hood is. Light pendants are ok. Island doesnt have to be so long. Dont really want all white cabinets, just looking at layouts

Q

Photo

I would put cook top in island with downdraft, and put in dbl stacking ovens, get more cabinets by getting rid of big hood. Dont like columns on island, nor just out at backend of island. Make a rectangle shape. Like thicker granite on island. Like the light gray, the backsplash, need cabinets on wall you cant see. Bar stools on side of island closest to wall you cant see LVM

Q

Photo

Like this style kitchen but prefer double ovens with separate cook top. Dont really care for stove/oven combo. Wine cooler can be more cabinet space or a bar area like PWV has ? Maybe lose some drawers and add cabinet space? Island could be maybe a little smaller, maybe take off the 5-6" legs on either side to shorten the island. Like some cabinets to have glass, would like windows somewhere. Dont like wood beam too mu7ch nor windows or sliding windows on either side of wood beam. Like ceiling, or tray type ceiling. LVM

Q

Photo

Kitchen Layout nice with windows and hutch like piece on right side of window for wine glasses, or dishes. island is cheap and chintzy. hood is a bit large and ornate, if did cook top, would be able to put cabinets above a built in hood. Might could lose one set of windows for cabinet space, maybe to match hutch on right side of windows, unless too suymmetrical? lvm

Q

Photo

Cottage on Keowee. cook top and double ovens pls. Kitchen flows into dining area without the dining area being on top of the kitchen. Get rid of wall between cabinets and dining room. Like the differing ceilings in kitchen and DR so makes room distinctly separated, yet still open., but could achieve same effect with any different ceiling type. Make sure there are cabinets elsewhere, so can delete the cabinets between DR and ktichen. Like the pendant lights over island (LM)

Q

Photo

I like the next 3 kitchen photos a lot. the cabinets are an antiquey off white, with a touch of brown in them, which matches the island. The island gives a touch of opulence without being overbearing. Could make island smaller, or delete the fancier corner ends for a rectangular island. I think stools can be put on back side? Dont care for the tile over the stoves, and not sure we are cooking for enough to need 2 stoves/cook tops, so pick up another cabinet in place of hood, and put in double ovens , move cook top to island and sink in front of window. Dont particularly like the slots for plats Make full size cabinets there, with maybe glass doors on either side of sink/windows? Like cabinet space in island. Dont need glass in all of top cabinets, and dont even need them if want to leave open and put knick knacks on top of cabinets. LVM

Q

Photo

See note to left - if this kitchen is too big, condense to L shape using stove wall and window wall. other side of kitchen could be open with island separating ktichen from other areas of house.

Q

Photo

see note to far left - I think I am concentrating on bigger kitchens. I am fine with my size or mom's size or bruce's size, where island is L shaped to close in the kitchen, while also keeping it open as no cabinets over the island countertop.

Q

Photo

Like the hardwood, stools, and island; non big on the French hood, backsplash, and bordering cabinets. Just need something Northwoods simple in that regard. (PWV). Like backsplash, except under hood. I'm with you, don't like the hood nor the raised cabinet with extra top trim on either side of the hood. Don't care for cabinets ending in middle of nowhere since ceiling is so high and beams there. I prefer a uniform height look across top of cabinets. Maybe cabinets could rise up higher, closer to ceiling? Not sure about the beams - maybe if a lighter color? Cabinet right on top of fridge looks a little funky to me?? LVM

Q

Photo

Warm and like the upper cabinets (PWV) Like warm cabinet color, might could go a tad bit lighter if floors to be that same color. Could we go away from wood on fridge, will help keep kitchen from looking like wood everywhere? Don't care for the hanging cabinets facing D.R.. Would prefer to leave that open if did DR on other side like your house is? Like window area. and floor and granite LVM

Q

Photo

Warm color; modern rustic might be good theme for kitchen. (PWV) Like that wood too LVM

Q

Photo

Openness, windows, and lighter wood tones are nice. Not wild about coffered ceiling. (PWV) Like the light wood floor, but any color wood floor except extremely dark or golden oak would be ok with me. like the openness but not the columns, or table at end of island. Kind of like dining table where it is, but at same time, Maybe dining table across from island, so where dining room is in pic could be made an extension of family room like sun room/keeping room area. Love windows.

Q

Photo

This photo is only to illustrate openness of living areas, while keeping dedicated space for dining. Don't like many of the materials, and it's all a bit too busy. (PWV) Like the openness, family room will need to be bigger and dining room deeper like yours . NOT impressed with materials either lol LVM

Q

Photo

A bit too modern, but like the openness, warm wood, windows, and floating shelves. (PWV) I saw a kitchen that had 3 open shelves that looked ok, but also had regular cabinets so didn't run out of storage areas. Like picture window. Maybe a little too simple.
