Kitchen
White. White is really one of the most asked-about colors. The perfect white is sought after for cabinets and trim. Undertones in white paint are important and can really shift a palette. My favorite pure white is White Dove OC-17, by Benjamin Moore. This white, shown here in this gorgeous kitchen, is crisp with no undertones. It looks great against any color.
Buy an oven with side opening doors so you don't have to lean over the door - brilliant!
note the clean, open feel of a kitchen without upper cabinets. Design these and replace upper cabinets with a single wall of floo-to-ceiling cabinets
Make one wall entirely cabinets up to the ceiling which allows less cabinets over counters (and creates a more open feel)
Advice: lower drawers are much more useful than cabinets
add an upside down wine glass storage system in a cabinet (altho I prefer a cabinet with a door). Safer and cleaner that trying to set them upside down on a rim or on their regular bases
Double layer silverware drawer
drawer dividers for organizing system for cookware
organize dishes in a drawer with posts to keep stacks tight
I like the seamless transistion to booth seating from the kitchen counter. It makes transfer pre & post a meal very easy to do - makes use of smaller spaces
I like the B&W checkered floor with marble counters, stainless steel, and touches of warmth with the tan fiber shades
Good suggestion of best type of tile grout for easiest maintenance: Fusion Pro Single Component Grout
I like commentary about entry/exit and traffic flow. Certainly consider that in kitchen design
I like the commentary about using kitchen counters for cooking or for paperwork. Be sure to design a kitchen that is for cooking and a designated area for paperwork and homework
I like the commentary here "sink is the lynch pin of the kitchen" - design around that first
arched entry door/hall really warms up a room!
Center kitchen island with stools across from each other for casual meals
engaging sitting area near kitchen work space
cozy eating nook
walk in pantry
Double Island- food prep space, eat space
All silverware and gadget drawer in a row - lots of space
Double stack silverware and gadget drawer
Cool tray organizer- like dividers instead of just one bulk cabinet
Lift up cabinet door for appliance barn
Nice way to store big things in kitchen that are not used regularly
Cool organization for home central spot - behind a door so out of sight
Convenient way to store cookware- not as much digging to retrieve
Like extra sitting spaces along the sides
Tin panel ceiling- probably cheaper than smooth ceilings or box ceilings. But adds texture and interest
Dry erase board for notes behind a key storage door
Angled corner sink with window view
Like the round table in the center of the room that is multiple purpose dining and homework

Lots of good ideas, measurements, guidelines
