Kitchen
Notice: 1) Contrast of wood and white cabinets 2) Marble central island and gray surrounding countertops 3) Desk area w/ open shelving 4) Slim, straight up profile of crown molding versus curved and jutting out - gives it a more modern feel. COUNTETOPS: The island countertop is Vadara's Calcatta Blanco and the perimeter countertop is Cabrini Grey in velvet finish by Daltile - both engineered quartz
Open wood shelving
Including wood detailing in kitchen to bring warmth and variation. Wood was reclaimed pine from home itself and refinished. Notice surround of frig, along w/ island detailed in wood.
Love the countertop. Schist - a metamorphic stone with sufficient amounts of mica allowing the rock to split into thin sheets. Layered mica provides the shiny crystals that also reflect the light. Because the schist surface has been compared to a marble, some people wonder if the countertop will also etch like one. Calcium is what makes the stone acid etch but schist does not contain calcium. Honed finish bad. Leathered finish good.
Open shelving. Kitchen hardware: Newport Brass. Love the satin brass and clean lines of handles and faucets. Notice 2 types of handles used - long pulls and short pulls.
See hood detail with gold trim
Note cesar stone countertop
Clean, simple, with some wood on white to give visual variation. Note wood wrapping around hood. Overaly cabinet doors.
Don't like it much, but want to note the contrasting of wood and white cabinets
Like the wood trim around range hood. Can make it pick up the island wood.
Notice ceiling height and cabinet above frig going all the way to ceiling White perimeter cabinets, beech wood island. Ceiling beam detail Open wall cabinets Marble tile full extent of kitchen wall - similar to Binali's
Fun pantry door - adds a lot of interest value to the kitchen passage way.
Large long counter, w/ lower smaller counter at 1 end.
Love the double height made of wood.
