While I generally want to stay way from carpet, I like how the bottom stairs are lett undone with a darker carpet on the main part of the stairs. It helps blend the two areas while providing a carpet that won't show dirt as quickly. Concerned that all wood stairs would be slippery. Ours are heavy use stairs.

love this utility room. Its long which ours probably will be. Also like cut away stairs. Maybe glass panels for railway. Also like how you see the wood along the white.

definitely want a pull out table. Underneath should be big enough to hold everyones laundry basket. Table can be pulled out to fold more clothes or for craft projects.

this cubby is good w/bench space underneath for shoes, baskets above. Have to assume kids will do little more then kick off shoes. If lucky it will be under bench.

Need shoe wall. Want it flexible so its use can be changed when we have less shoes at home.
