I love a sleek and minimal look and want my grab bars to be understated. Tip: Your grab bars can double as towel holders if you like. But don't use a towel holder in lieu of a grab bar, because it won't hold the weight.
The slanted bar position shown in this photo is sometimes more comfortable when people are using it to help themselves get up. But it is not in keeping with ADA guidelines and might not help if you fall because your hand can slide.
or copper?? Although ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) guidelines aren't required for residences, they're useful for making sure your grab rails provide the safety you are looking for. Make sure your rail can support the force of 250 pounds. Mount it 33 to 36 inches from the floor and allow a minimum of 1½ inches between the wall and the bar.

L O V E THESE WALLS !!
Look at that lighted vanity top !!
Plaster walls
what is your opinion of using bolder, warmer color of porcelain wood plank tile in horizontal direction for window wall of shower?
MAY be able to add niche like this under window—but would it need to be as wide as the window?
Also thought of beams in ceiling to add interest and character…just might be harder to accomplish…..note the “gold” fixtures and mirrors…..think the mirrors might be a little over the top and too trendy ???? although, in a neighborhood filled with horse properties…thoughts?
Separate med cabinets/mirrors over vanity or full mirror like this with lights on top or pendant lights in front. our current ceiling would be 12” higher than it is now. see pic of our vanity area as it is now. current mirror is too low to keep i think, but maybe you think we could keep it and put recessed mirrored plain med cabinets at each end walls. thoughts?
see cubbies for towels on right in this pic—this would be my idea for space where bakers rack currently stands. the vanity and mirror in this picture would be the doorway into the closet. So, cubbies or shelves would face “my” sink of our current vanity
This should be in a different category, but wanted to include it here because i would love to do something similar in the hall guest bath unless you think that is just too retro for the rest of the house, etc??? wouldn’t use the zigzag pattern, but rather lined tile eyebrow arch with 4” square tiles with some kind of (restrained) AZ theme—an old arizona look
another example of under vanity lighting
Pretend you are looking into closet from shower. I was going to paint the “cedar” lining of the closet warm white—should i leave it dark instead? also, note the light under the vanity—I want to do that to add the illusion of “floating” vanity—and also because i think lighting can be kinds sexy…would use a shade of blue i think—or else warm white. And, what is your opinion of pendant light vs light on wall. going to try to save money with lighting in order to spend on faucets.
this is almost exactly like the design in the tile for shower…if I go back to sconce idea….i would hang it upside down from this picture
