I love the eclectic design, handblown look, and it's not so dense that it would block views of cabinetry on the other side.
I like the simple style. Dimmable, LED compatible.
Pull-down hanger holder for laundry room.
Good advice on keeping in mind a realistic timeline for the remodel.

Consumer Reports guide to choosing kitchen faucets.
A coffee and beverage area near the dining area would be a plus.
GE Monogram induction cooktop. This is my first choice cooktop, although I'm hoping to find a good sale/discount somewhere. Pros: flush mount capable, expandable burner, included griddle, brand has great ratings from C.R., multiple timers - for each burner. Cons: rather expensive compared to other brands.
The black stainless steel is my preferred finish!
LG Double Wall Oven (FAVORITE) Pros: double oven, top is ALSO a microwave, convection, program presets, meat probe Cons: apparently the microwave will keep beeping unless cleared after the cycle, traditional open-down doors (not side or French)
Kitchen layout planning worksheets.
Coffee mugs in a drawer near the sink station section of the kitchen. This whole article is great for planning the kitchen layout.
Double wall oven with high ratings and recommended by Consumer Reports. Pros: very good ratings by CR Cons: door not side-opening or French, which would be better for a shorter cook, like me.
I like this style for over the island, providing it coordinates with the cabinet style/color.
Compact storage for cutting board and drying rack (which both have leather pulls) close to the sink. A great use for inches of spare space.
Pantry storage ideas: - pull-outs for lower storage, baskets to corral smaller items - broom stored inside door
This is the new blender/food processor combination I recently purchased.
Varied style cabinet fronts may be okay for adding interest: - upper cabinets and island are inset panel - drawers on right are flat front - drawers on other side of island have no pulls/hardware
I like the colors here - the light green and warm wood cabinets. The green really pulls the warm tones out in the wood. I like the tall upper cabinets (but not so many that it looks closed in) going all the way to the ceiling, with lovely crown molding. The open shelves match.
Lighting for over the island, possibly. Is it LED?
An air switch for a garbage disposal - clever!
Yes, if our hood looks like this, I want space between it and the nearby cabinets. - for ease of cleaning - for aesthetics, so it doesn't look crammed into the design
Hidden storage options for microwave and coffee station. I like the beautiful wood here! I also like that the kitchen is mostly neutral, with the pops of color in the dishes and accessories. The grey-green of the wall and countertops works very well, and I like this color a lot.
Under cabinet plug molding would be a great idea for outlets. - hidden from sight, so not breaking up the view - if using a slab or solid surface backsplash, no need to cut into it - must keep it easy for a tall person to use - so there should be enough clearance in front and below for easy access
There is a lot I like about this kitchen: - the drawer in the trash pull-out for trash bags - all the light! - a long, clear countertop - organized drawers for spices (probably near the cooking/prep zone) - refrigerator near the outside of the work triangle, so helpers can get things out without getting in the way of the cook - airy countertop area, not closed in by upper cabinets
Toe kick ideas.
Toe-kick material - if cabinet finishes differ, what will we use? This kitchen has stainless steel toe kicks to coordinate with the appliance finish. Will this choice make the kitchen more mid-century? Will it draw attention downward, and do we want that?
An island table/banquette seating facing the dining area could be an alternate dining place for the kids at a large family gathering.
Cushioned floor mat for kitchen.
Arts and Crafts style kitchen reno with lovely wood cabinets.
The prep area on the left is only a couple inches lower, but looks lovely. The higher counter in the middle makes no sense, though (to me).
Multilevel counter. I like the way the lower counter material continues the line into the other counter.
Slots in the supports for shelves to make them adjustable, and in front of the windows would be great for plants.
