I'd be cautious putting wallpaper in a bathroom because of the steam. The seams might start to lift off.

I should have mentioned that we already have wallpaper on some of the walls and have had for years. It did very well (possibly because we have an expel air extractor fan in there, or possibly because a professional decorator (and not ourselves) put the original wallpaper up. I do appreciate the comments however, and panelling might be one way to go. I think I'm stuck in a bit of a rut and unsure what to do.
