Those are nice fixtures. I take it they are going to be somewhat centered on that dropped soffit in the ceiling? If you like the grouped fixture look, you could also do something like these in either a round or linear configuration:

The key aspects to consider are:

1. do the fixtures provide enough light?
2. do they show up against the background? (In this case, with wood color cabinets and stainless steel appliances, the white shows up well, so yes, white could work well in the kitchen. A clear glass with an interesting bulb could also work well.)
   And 3) are they in a style which is cohesive with the kitchen style and your own preferences for your home?

Long narrow glass or distorted glass would look great. I will find some ideas for you.

I would go with your gut

I like the fixtures you chose. I agree to make sure the light output is adequate. Also people don't like lights positioned right above their head so move them over the counters. not chairs.

I like these narrow ones best. 2 on each side.

I love your lighting selection. I like Claire’s a tad bit more because I think the black ties in with the black you have in the area. And it adds the brass finish as well.
