Suggestions for 22 foot high ceiling above Kitchen - Pendant Lights R

We are almost to the lighting stage of a new house. The main room has 22 foot high ceilings and has an open concept kitchen-dining room-living room. We purchased two large chandeliers for the living room and dining room. I Will probably hang those 14 feet up from the floor and they are 4 feet wide each. We have also purchased two farmhouse industrial-style metal pendants for the Kitchen area that will be over the kitchen island. Most online articles say to hang pendants 3 feet above the Island which is of course 3 feet from the ground so that would be a total of 6 feet. One main reason they give is so people can not see or look up inside the pendant and the light. Our issue is this means we would need to use the entire 13 feet of cord supplied and purchase extra chain link to decorate the cord. The pendant is 2 feet in height so we would be 15 feet down from the ceiling and 7 feet off the ground. My thoughts are that because of the scale of the room it is more than OK to hang these large pendants higher than a normal ceiling of 9-10 feet high. If it matters we also have 4 beams running across the room that are 16 feet up in the air. We can not use those to hang the pendants or lighting down from. Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated.
