They don't have to be the same. I think that the purpose of the bathroom determines the style/choice. For example, if it's a bathroom that only the children and their friends will be, it calls for a different tile than the Master Bathroom or the Bathroom that your guest will be using.

I need some help please - I live in a tropical country and am building a house with 5 bathrooms - my question is do I need to tile all four walls in every bathroom or can I just tile the shower area and make an 12" / 1' baseboard .
