I think you can start by de cluttering. There's too much going on. If you want to keep the bedspread, I would pull some colors from that. :) Teals, browns, whites. It would make a pretty room.

Easiest is just to paint the walls. Stay away from purple and replace your bed spread. Here are some ideas using orange headboards: A light beige wall . Note that the bedspread uses the same colors as in the room ( so brown , beige, orange) or A fun paint job- brown and white stripes. Again, the bedspread uses the same colors ( white and brown). OR A brave color choice- orange and brown pair beautifully with a deep blue or aqua.

Depends on what effect overall you want -- hot tropical feel (oranges and reds) or a bit more toned down? You can take inspiration from pictures of gardens with lime green heuchera or sweet potato -- often paired with chocolatey purple, silvery greens and blues.

Keep things cool Cooler shades such as grey and blue help walls recede, making the room feel more spacious and light. Bring home the sunshine Light but warm colours such as terracotta or yellow can mimic sunshine and make a space feel bright and airy. Pale ceilings Keep the ceilings in a light colour to make the room appear larger and lighter. While white is your safest bet, you can opt for mint or sage green for a pop of colour.
