Hello again, after several weeks. I've made an attempt at working on what the house might look like, but I must admit I haven't been able to sort out the structure very well. The levels have me very confused. But it looks as though there might be a ground slope from the right downwards to the left, making the right side of the house higher than the left, so what I've done may make sense from that point of view. I've tried to preserve some of the little decorative pillars, without knowing quite how they worked architecturally to begin with. (You're welcome to laugh!) And I have suggested demolishing the extra upper floor structure on the left, and instead extending the upper structure on the right, which would give you a very big verandah that you could decorate with large plants in pots. Also, the garden gate on the left looks very narrow, but that is the size it was. Anyway, please see this as just an attempt, not as a solution! I hope it's useful.

Costs really vary in different areas and they are always changing . You would be best to talk to 3 local contractors who have good reputations and ask them what their building costs are. When you say "interiors" do you mean furniture? Or the interior finishes? The contractors will be able to give you the interior finishes numbers, but you can talk to a few local interior designers for estimates on furnishing a house. Also, ask the contractors about landscaping costs. Do you want a pool or an outdoor patio? Or just planting? Plus the building permit costs in your area. Check with the local building department. Some areas charge school fees.............. It would be great if you could factor in an architect to help you pull all of this together. Also this should be an architect who has great references and is known for working within budgets. Once again, you should ask 2 or 3 for proposals to see how they price their services. It can vary.

The amazing thing is that you have the luxury of approaching the architect about these issues. Laminated glass should address the security along with any alarm or security system you plan on installing, though the laminated glass may have size limitations. Regarding the waterproofing you should contact the architect, contactor and waterproofing subcontractor, or see about hiring an independent waterproofing specialist who can detail and warranty the condition. As a design consideration, make the lower area a garden or gallery or sculpture area and upper should be all glass. Maybe a garden roof there too if accessible or visible. In any case looks like an amazing place!!

Your rugs are beautiful and very good quality. They compliment your property well. It is natural for wool to shed at first, but it will eventually stop. You can get a special carpet rake or use a broom to rake or brush the carpet weekly and also vacuum it once or twice a week. The shedding should stop after a few months. Once you get through that period, you can enjoy the many great qualities that wool has. It is extremely durable, more stain resistant than most, flame retardant and self-extinguishing, and it actually regulates temperature & humidity in the home by absorbing & releasing moisture as needed. That's how it amazingly feels warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Good luck! Don't give up on your rugs just yet!
