Hello again, after several weeks. I've made an attempt at working on what the house might look like, but I must admit I haven't been able to sort out the structure very well. The levels have me very confused. But it looks as though there might be a ground slope from the right downwards to the left, making the right side of the house higher than the left, so what I've done may make sense from that point of view. I've tried to preserve some of the little decorative pillars, without knowing quite how they worked architecturally to begin with. (You're welcome to laugh!) And I have suggested demolishing the extra upper floor structure on the left, and instead extending the upper structure on the right, which would give you a very big verandah that you could decorate with large plants in pots. Also, the garden gate on the left looks very narrow, but that is the size it was. Anyway, please see this as just an attempt, not as a solution! I hope it's useful.

Personally, I would also steer clear of pink. The latest Disney Princesses have been all about the blue, green etc etc. (and I rather like the yellow!) One of the most cost effective solutions is to make a virtue of the existing colour scheme by getting some woodland decals and a couple of small fairies (think: Sleeping Beauty in the woods) for the walls and wardrobe - easy to place and reposition, and easy to remove if you want to change the theme at a later date. See if you can find a big decal that looks like a picture frame, too, and put that on the mirror in the wash area (think: magic mirror!) Some sort of drapery, above the bed is always good. If you're concerned about installing a full corona on the ceiling, you can mount a curtain rail above the bed (don't forget to buy one with crystal sparkly finials!) and hang a set of long voile curtains for a similar effect! I would then advocate sparkly crystal curtain tie backs - they're cheap, cheerful and can be swapped out when the colour begins to bore. Finally, swap out all the drawer pulls and knobs with something glam and crystal-ly in style. Assuming your daughter is quite young, I would say err on the side of shiny bling, and she'll love them! All of these options are pretty simple to do, not too expensive and easy to reverse or change as she grows up!

Warlike Tiger, Good Morning. Whats your dilemma. Is it the budget, design plan or availability of a professional to do it? Either of that would require a site study, without that it is not possible to estimate the plans or costs or even a realistic design plan. If you are keen , you can search for professionals in this forum and contact them or leave your number for interested architects to call you. However, this idea of building the second story and then breaking the lower floor walls is not feasible. It is a hilly area and you should be all the more cautious with the foundation.
