How do I redecorate this living room?
Comments (14)Love the armless sofa-bench! Try using it in the center as a "cross-linking" piece between the sofa and chairs. That way people can sit on both sides of it, conversing with the sofa people and the chair people. Put the chairs where it is and use the side table from the left of the pic, or the one with flowers, between them. You'll need one huge rug to anchor the space or two smaller, and very similar ones, to put on either side of the blue sofa-bench. The other two side tables are too tall and too short for your seating pieces, so ditch them. Use your coffee table between the sofa and armless sofa (18" away from each of them.) Here's a chart for judging table and lamp heights as you'll need to work on that for balance. Please try this arrangement, and post by commenting and using the Attach Images button to add pix of the update. We'll tweak it on out from there....See MoreNeed ideas to decorate a wall in kitchen
Comments (9)Seems weird not to incorporate it into the design -- I'm all about having things "look intentional" rather than working around them later. Like could the island have connected to this, rather than extending past it? or been L-shaped, so there's room for an extra stool, and also a wall cabinet? Anyway, hard to discuss that in the abstract without kitchen plans. I'm with miacometlady's original advice to not worry about it right now, and decide how to deal with it once the bulk of your kitchen is in place. You might find that you hardly notice it, with all the beautiful new finishes, or it might seem obvious to put some stainless or glass shelves there, or maybe simple is best and one simple hanging picture does the job. Don't stress about it until After. :)...See Morehow to decorate my walls
Comments (2)I decorate my walls with pieces of art (prints, paintings) that I like and I think are pretty. For me that includes botanical art (flowers), vintage china, some lovely landscapes painted by a relative, prints I've picked up here and there, a few pictures / items that reflect my faith, pictures of my kids and so on. Your pictures / artwork should reflect you. If the art has color in it, that would be great to add some to your room....See MoreI have a kitchen window that faces a wall. How can I get a better view
Comments (7)You would need a base steel grid in case of a climber. Plants that require least watering would be bougainvillea, blue morning glory, star jasmine, bleeding heart. If you are not keen on a live wall perhaps you can install artificial grass/turf on the wall and complete with some wall masks....See Moremichelle kirk
