Need help in doing interiors in my new apartment

Hi,

I am from India.
I have purchased a new apartment recently and planning for the interiors.But I am completely confused about many things like:
1.Should I go for ready made modular kitchen available in market or customized kitchen done by the interior designers.
2.The apartment is quite small so what kind of wall colors should I go for.
3.How to choose furniture which will serve the purpose without cluttering the place
My idea of a perfect house is : Clutter free(spacious) house with lots of storage space and natural light.

Kindly give some suggestions.

My first question for you is do they have Ikea in India? They have the market cornered when it comes to smart and unique ways to furnish small spaces - and as far as I'm concerned, their specialty is clutter control!

It would be helpful if you could post pictures so that we can understand your space a little better. I will say that, as far as paint color goes, the first color that comes to mind is white. It makes any space feel fresh and clean and spacious, and will make the smallest picture or cushion just that much more noticeable. In a small space this is good since you won't have room for a lot of these items!

You may also want to consider a screen or pass-through bookcase to visually divide the "bedroom" area from the living area. I like your table and platform bed ideas. Consider whether the radiator will have enough room to "radiate" with a bed against it though. www.twitter.com/216Sharon
