Pull the large couch about 2 1/2 feet closer to the fireplace, and place the two chairs and loveseat on the ends of the rug, and pull them closer together. This will give you a more intimate conversation area, and not impose on the other areas of the room. Remove that floor lamp from behind the couch. If you need the light in that area, put it by the fireplace. Also, the stereo system on the mantel needs to find another home. Maybe it can go IN the fireplace instead. At the other end of the room, I think the arrangement would look better if the seating were rotated 90 degrees. Keep the rug and coffee table in its current configuration, place the sofa either facing the window or with its back to the window, and put the two chairs opposite it. Finally, the dining area. Now that you've moved the big leather chairs, you should have enough room. Your rug is too small. It should be big enough to give you at least a 2 ft. border all the way around when the chairs are pushed in. And it's a really beautiful table; please uncover it. I can't see what kind of lighting that area has. It really needs a pendant or chandelier hanging directly over the table.

Ashish That is a nice idea. However if you are going with light walls, I would say go darker with your furniture colour. If you use white or off white wall colour, go with a darker grey sofa. Though not very dark but at least 2-3 tones darker than your walls. Go with khadi texture on sofa covers. What i will ask you to change is your coffee table. Replace it with with a glass or a wooden nesting table. Go for a set of 2 round ones with walnut polish (if it is wood) .Keep a small dari rug under it. use you wall paper on the wall on which you are mounting your tv or on the wall directly adjacent to it. separate your dinning and living areas.

Hey, we have a solution to your question. We have kept in mind the furniture that you mentioned and is visible in the pictures posted. 1. We suggest a L shaped sofa (that you plan to buy from Urban Ladder) to be placed right in front of the entrance. You can use your wooden chairs along with it next to a coffee table in the middle. 2. You can keep your writing desk next to entrance as it is almost the same width. 3. We suggest you keep dining table in the centre of the room, as it will closer to kitchen in that place. 4. We suggest that you create a half partition using your own furniture in the other end of the room. You can place your white book shelf (books facing the wall) in the middle and tall white cabinet in front of it making a T shape as shown in the picture. 5. You should mount TV on wall to save space and beside the book shelf have a backless sitting for TV 6. Behind the book shelf you can have a floor sitting for your Tabla practice and book reading. 7.
